Peru's official language is Spanish
Peru’s Motto is “Firmey Felize por la Uniòn”, which means “Firm and Happy for the Union”

Peru is divided into 3 major regions
· Western coast (dry desert like)
· Central Ander (mountain ranges & volcanoes)
· Andean Mountains (traditional home of the ancestral Inca)
The current configuration of Peru took form on July 28, 1821, it decreed independence from Spain.
One important thing for Peruvians is their trade, Peru’s most important trading partners are; Western Europe, Japan, Columbia, and Brazil.
The main products traded/sold; Minerals ( silver, lead, copper, and bismuth), Agricultural products (cotton, sugar, and coffee).
Also oil has been a major part of Peru since the 1980's.

Peru has never hosted the Olympics, but has won one gold medal
Peru has participated in 17 summer Olympics games and 1 winter Olympic games. Peru has won a total of 4 medals, 3 in shooting events and 1 in Volleyball (to the left is Cecilia Roxanna Tait Villacota, a womens Volleyball player, she received a silver medal in 1988 during the Summer Olympics. Peru's History
Peru gained independence from Spain in 1821. Peru's government is a Presidential system, Unitary state, Constitutional Republic. Their current President has been in office since July 28, 2011, one Presidential term is 5 years.
